Research has shown that even though 93% of employers realise that the Olympics will have a knock-on effect on business, 29% still do not have plans to deal with the disruption.
With many staff taking time off to watch events - and in some cases volunteer at the Games - employers can expect to see lower staff attendance and productivity issues, as well as travel disruption.
Swinton Commercial is advising businesses to discuss holiday plans with staff ahead of the Games, which run from July 27th to August 12th.
Clarifying the staffing needs of the business well in advance and ensuring that those dealing with absence procedures are prepared for disruptions, could go a long way in avoiding short-term issues that arise from staff absence.
