(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/15/12 -- In observance of Holocaust Remembrance Week, April 15-22, 2012, Woodland Hills resident, award winning playwright and actor Tom Dugan will perform his one-man, critically acclaimed "Nazi Hunter - Simon Wiesenthal," a play based on the life of famed Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal who spent over 60 years bringing fugitive Nazi criminals to justice, at the Toronto Centre for the Arts in Toronto Canada April 19, at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Dugan, the son of a decorated WWII veteran, is available to provide commentary on the exceptional life (1908 - 2005) of Wiesenthal -- the man known as "The Conscience of the Holocaust."

Dugan's play is set on the day of the famed Nazi Hunter's retirement. While packing up his files, the hero nicknamed "The Jewish James Bond," recounts how after cheating death at the hands of Hitler's dreaded S.S, Wiesenthal dedicated his life to tracking down and bringing to justice such notorious villains as Franz Stangl, the Treblinka death camp commandant, Karl Silberbauer, the SS officer who imprisoned Anne Frank, Franz Murer "The Butcher of Wilna" and the infamous "Architect of the Holocaust" Adolph Eichmann.

"It was the rejection of collective guilt which first drew me to Wiesenthal's story," says Dugan. "For me, Simon Wiesenthal was a true 20th Century hero."

Tom Dugan is a veteran actor and playwright who recently received the 2011 The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance and was winner of three 2011 Los Angeles Ovation Award nominations for the for his work in "Nazi Hunter - Simon Wiesenthal."

Critically acclaimed one-man play "Nazi Hunter - Simon Wiesenthal" was hailed "masterful" by Backstage, "authoritative and engaging" by the LA Times, and "most eloquent" by LA WEEKLY. Written by and starring Tom Dugan, "Nazi Hunter" chronicles the life of Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal.

Holocaust Remembrance Week, an annual commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust, is April 15-22, 2012. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum designated "Choosing to Act: Stories of Rescue" as the 2012 observance theme.
