(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 04/23/12 -- Emergency Preparedness Week (May 6-12) is fast approaching. EP Week is a national awareness initiative that has taken place during the first week of May since 1996. The event is coordinated by Public Safety Canada, in collaboration with the provinces and territories and other partners.

As members of the media, you are an important partner in fostering a culture of preparedness in Canada.

The theme of this year's EP Week is "Make a Plan." Considering the fact that 85% of Canadians agree that having an emergency plan is important, yet only 40% have completed one, "Make a Plan" is a message worth spreading.
