Advanced Inflight Alliance AG announces financial results for the first
quarter 2012

Munich, May 15, 2012 - Advanced Inflight Alliance AG (ISIN DE0001262186;
WKN 126218; domiciled at: Schellingstr. 35, 80799 Munich) today released
its financial results for the first quarter of 2012:
The Advanced Inflight Alliance Group started the 2012 financial year in
line with company projections. Consolidated Group revenues climbed over 9
percent in the first quarter 2012 from EUR 28.9 million to EUR 31.6
million. Despite the loss of two bigger customers as announced in 2011, the
Company continued growing in the first quarter of 2012. The two
acquisitions made in 2011 being instrumental in this development.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA)
amounted to EUR 4.2 million in the first quarter of 2012, slightly below
the prior-year figure of EUR 4.4 million. This performance is in line with
the Company's expectations. Earnings in the first quarter of the previous
year had been boosted by an exceptionally high earnings contribution from
the license sales business, attributable to a particularly suitable
selection of movies offered by the film studios, with which the Advanced
Inflight Alliance Group negotiated favorable purchase terms. As expected,
owing to the movie offering available in the first quarter of 2012, the
Group was unable to reach this above-average level of earnings from license
sales in the reporting period. Nevertheless, the Company generally assumes
that the prior-year earnings contribution from the license sales business
can be achieved for the year as a whole, thanks not least to the two film
distributing companies acquired in 2011. The contribution to earnings from
the license sales business and thus the Group's profitability in the
individual quarters will fluctuate. This is primarily due to the fact that
profitability in the respective quarter now depends not only on the
seasonality during the year caused by different onboard cycles, but
increasingly on the quality of the movie offering available in the relevant
quarter.
As forecasted, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) stood at EUR 3.3
million in the first quarter of 2012, also slightly below EBIT for the
first quarter of 2011 (EUR 3.5 million).
The Advanced Inflight Alliance Group is reporting earnings before taxes
(EBT) of EUR 3.1 million for the first quarter of 2012, a slight decrease
on the EUR 3.4 million posted for the prior-year period.
As expected, net profit for the first quarter of 2012 at EUR 2.3 million
was also down moderately on the prior-year figure of EUR 2.5 million.
Amounting to EUR 0.14 in the first quarter of 2012, earnings per share
(EPS) in accordance with IFRS fell short of the prior-year figure of EUR
0.17, also due to the increase in the number of shares from 14,500,000 to
16,688,091.
In the first quarter of 2012, the net foreign currency effects reported in
the Advanced Inflight Alliance Group amounted to EUR 3 thousand, compared
with EUR -17 thousand in the first quarter of 2011. As reported net foreign
currency effects in both reporting periods were negligible, amounts
adjusted for foreign currency effects were not disclosed separately.
For the financial year 2012 the company expects a moderate year-on-year
increase in consolidated Group revenues and adjusted net profit compared to
2011. The Company saw a positive development in contract renewals and
addition of new clients in the first quarter of 2012.
