New Game-Changing Mobile Applications Powered by Image Recognition From LTU technologies
Recently Launched Customer Apps Demonstrate Diversity and Power of Image Recognition and Mobile Visual Search

Demonstrating the wide range of applications that can benefit from integrating image recognition, LTU technologies today announced three new customers, The Mobile Money Network, Lahaina Printsellers and Zone Media, all with diverse offerings that are dramatically changing 'business as usual.'
The Mobile Money Network (MMN), () has released the latest version of Simply Tap, an instant mobile checkout application for the iPhone and Android. The app allows consumers to purchase products from retailers who are signed up to the MMN by simply snapping a picture of the product -- in print, in-store, on outdoor advertising etc. -- allowing for easy, secure, purchases via mobile and delivery directly to a home address.
Another new development that is improving customer service, while merging mobile and in-store shopping, comes from Lahaina Printsellers (), which has been selling Hawaiian-themed artwork and antique maps since 1978. Today, customers have to carry the large framed posters to the checkout counter, but in an effort to make the shopping experience more convenient and to streamline the checkout process, sales staff will soon be equipped with mobile tablets to assist customers by taking a picture of the poster to be purchased and automatically sending that information to the inventory and point-of-sale system. As a result, customers can easily browse the store without cumbersome items to carry and merchandise will be ready for them at checkout.
Demonstrating the diversity and breadth of image recognition, Zone Media (), a corporate interactive agency, has created and launched a new mobile app for Austria's leading electricity company, VERBUND. The VERBUND Viewer, is an iPhone app that turns VERBUND annual reports and other printed publications into multi-media spectacles through the integration of image recognition. With the app, VERBUND can provide more content and add a interactive experience to their investor materials. Once the app is downloaded, the reader simply snaps a photo of the printed page and is automatically delivered videos, informational graphics, and slide shows that augment the content in the annual report document. The goal for Zone Media is to expand this offering to help other corporate clients 'activate' their annual reports and collateral.
