Winners of the 2012 National Homeland Security Awards Announced
(firmenpresse) - SACRAMENTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/24/12 -- The National Urban Area Association in partnership with is honoring seven individuals and organizations for their outstanding performance in homeland security program management and practice.
"Emergency Management magazine is delighted to be a part of this year's National Homeland Security Awards program," shared Marty Pastula, Vice President Emergency Management/ Homeland Security. "This is a fantastic way of saying 'thank-you' to the people and agencies keeping us safe every day, showing their tremendous preparedness and response efforts from New York to Guam."

The prestigious awards were presented during the 6th Annual in Columbus, Ohio, on May 23 in the following categories:
- Joe G. Javellana III, Port Security Grant Program Manager, Piti, Guam
- Region III Health & Medical Taskforce
- Disaster Ready Austin
- King County Healthcare Coalition
- John Gullo, Fire Chief, Disaster Coordinator, West Seneca, NY
Nominations from Urban Area Security Initiative, port security and transit security programs were accepted. The Board of Directors for the National Homeland Security Association also handed out two special honors:
- Tim Manning, Deputy Administrator for Protection and National Preparedness, Federal Emergency Management Agency
- 2012 National Homeland Security Conference, Columbus, OH
