(firmenpresse) - LAFAYETTE, IN -- (Marketwire) -- 05/29/12 -- A short walk from the IUPUI campus is 1201 Indiana, a new by design student property that opened last fall. This 253-unit development, built by Trinitas, is directly across from Herron School of Art and Design's sculpture and ceramics facility, soon to be rededicated the Sydney and Lois Eskenazi Fine Art Center. Trinitas is among the most recent community partners to work with Herron's Basile Center for Art, Design and Public Life to enhance the community through public art.

Trinitas is a 30 year old company based in Lafayette, Indiana that specializes in private student housing for university students. Trinitas currently has properties near the campuses of IUPUI, Indiana University, Purdue University, University of Illinois, Virginia Commonwealth University and will soon have properties at Kennesaw State University and University of Kentucky.

Several students from the Fine Art Center presented to a group of stake holders including officials from the Indianapolis Area Arts Council, the City of Indianapolis, Develop Indy, Trinitas and the Riverside Neighborhood. This distinguished group selected "Moving Forward" by Brett Harbour which will be placed at the corner of Indiana Avenue and Millburn Streets. The committee was attracted to Harbour's use of the "the Golden Ratio" -- a proportion favored by many artists and architects as aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for this location.

Harbour, a senior and fine arts major, said, "Something that stood out to me at 1201 Indiana Avenue was the commitment to community and the progressive environment Trinitas has developed. It's a welcoming, modern place for people to come together. The atmosphere at 1201 Indiana Avenue seems designed to promote continual study and wellbeing for the community."

His work will be placed at the corner of Indiana and Milburn and will feature two conical forms that wrap around each other and create new pathways of movement. Harbour said the movement implied in the work, "stands as a symbol for the progression of our thought and understanding."
