JAXX SE is now called mybet Holding SE
Kiel, June 18, 2012 - With immediate effect the Kiel-based gaming
specialist JAXX SE is operating as mybet Holding SE. The change of name has
now been entered on the Commercial Register.
The company's shareholders had approved the change of name by a large
majority
at the Shareholders' Meeting in May. The shareholders thus accepted the
proposal
of the Management Board to place greater emphasis on the products sports
betting, casino and poker through the change of name, bearing in mind that
it has already been offering these under the mybet brand for some years.
Lottery agency business, which was the former core business handled mainly
under the umbrella of the JAXX brand, along with the naming and brand
rights, was sold by JAXX SE in May 2012 for EUR 12.5 million.
In 2006 the Kiel-based holding company acquired a majority interest in the
still-young Maltese company PEI Ltd., which operates sports betting on the
Internet at www.mybet.com. With the financial support of the holding
company, the mybet product range was successfully expanded over the years
that followed, accompanied by investment in new markets and sales channels.
The average annual growth rate has been around 36 percent since 2006.
Today, mybet is one of Europe's largest providers and most popular sports
betting brands, with around one million registered customers and 500
betting shops.
mybet has licences in various European countries and holds one of the seven
licences issued by the state of Schleswig-Holstein, on which basis mybet is
also able to promote its products in Germany.
