Iroquois County Land to Sell in July 20 Auction
(firmenpresse) - WATSEKA, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 06/18/12 -- Approximately 605 acres of productive farmland in Iroquois County, Ill., will sell at auction Friday, July 20, with marketing the property and managing the auction.
"I have daily conversations with farmland investors who are actively seeking opportunities to expand their holdings, so I expect some of them will view the auction of this productive land as a welcome development," said Murray Wise, chief executive officer of Murray Wise Associates.
"Quality farmland has been in short supply relative to demand, so this will be an opportunity for farmers or investors who have been wanting to add to their holdings. By selling in tracts, we make it possible for more people to participate. Those seeking just one or two tracts will be on an equal footing with bidders who wish to buy the entire 605 acres. All but one of the tracts are less than 100 acres," said Wise.
Four tracts can be combined for a contiguous 345 acres. All of the tracts are located within a 10-mile radius.
Bidders for the Iroquois County land are expected to include investors as well as area farmers, according to Wise. The land will sell in eight tracts, ranging from 36 acres to 115 acres. The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, at the Celebrations Banquet Center.
"It's still hard to find an asset that matches farmland for steady returns and appreciation potential," Wise added.
