Easy and soft loading and unloading of wafer carriers
For the loading and unloading of wafer carriers, Montech AG has developed a conveyor that ensures soft and easy handling. The Swiss company keeps expanding its range of solutions for the solar industry.
The new conveyor has a fixed and a sliding section(firmenpresse) - The new unloading conveyor is a double-belt system including a fixed section and a sliding section with 160 mm stroke. The sliding section runs into the carrier driven by a pneumatic cylinder. “A key feature is that this loading/unloading system is made up of just a pair of belts and a drive, thus offering a cost-effective as well as efficient solution,” says Gianluca Aloisi, Manager, Conveyors Division, Montech. “Compared to convention carrier loading/unloading solutions based on handling components, wafers are carried more accurately and softly with the new unloading conveyor.”
Optimized use of the wafer carrier
“The distance between the wafers in the carrier is leveraged optimally, as the idle roller diameter in the sliding section is just 8 mm,” explains Aloisi.
Thanks to its modular concept, the belt conveyor can be tailored to the specific needs of each user in terms of length and width. In its standard configuration, the wafer unloading conveyor is available in 125x125 mm and 156x156 mm versions. The conveyor drive unit can be placed in the middle, on the right or left as needed. The drive roller diameter is 30 mm. The sliding section has a total thickness of 9.6 mm and a total width of 100 mm.
“Due to our experience in the solar industry, we know the requirements of the sector and our customers quite well. With the new unloading conveyor, we have developed a functional solution tailored to the product-specific and process-specific requirements of the solar industry,” adds Aloisi.
