ORCO Property Group leases over 90,500 sqm of commercial assets in the
first three quarters of 2012
Paris, October 16, 2012
Orco Property Group (OPG) successfully leased more than 90,500 square
meters of commercial assets during the first nine months of 2012.
In the Central European region where OPG operates in the real estate
markets of the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, OPG leased
almost 10,500 square meters in new contracts and expanded or prolonged
contracts for 25,000 square meters. One of the most important contracts
extended was with a world-leading mobile operator for a surface of 8,500
square meters in Budapest.
Another significant extended contract was signed with an important
financial institution at Arena Corner in Budapest, its 1,500 square meters
of office space was also awarded with a LEED Platinum certificate. Arena
Corner is the very first office to receive a LEED certification within the
Central and Eastern European market. 'OPG believes that LEED certifications
will be a major influencing factor for the future renting of new premises
as lower energy costs and overall environment friendly attributes attract
tenants while increasing asset value,' commented Cédric Gabilla, Deputy
Head of Asset Management, Orco Property Group, while attending EXPO REAL
2012 in Munich.
In Germany OPG reached almost 55,000 square meters in new leasing contracts
in the first nine months of 2012. This represents a 20% increase in year on
year comparison. OPG credits this success to the new local management
team's involvement as well as the increased demand caused by the growing
Berlin economy.
Orco Property Group manages 1.28 million square meters of commercial assets
with a total gross value of EUR 1.4 billion, thus positioning itself as the
market leader with over 0.8 million square meters of commercial leasable
space in Berlin. Within the CEE region, OPG focuses on the three key
capitals - Prague, Warsaw and Budapest with clients including renowned
financial institutions, local and global telecommunication operators,
publishing houses, cultural institutions and international oil and gas
companies. Altogether, Orco manages a portfolio of over 2,500 tenants in
all of its assets.
