ZhongDe Waste Technology signs BOT contract for largest waste-to-energy
plant in China
* Total investment volume of approx. RMB 1.37 billion (EUR 168 million)
* Daily waste disposal capacity of up to 3,000 tons

Frankfurt, 23 October of 2012 - By signing the contract for a large
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project with the Lanzhou Qinwangchuan
Integrative Development Management Committee, ZhongDe Waste Technology AG
has successfully concluded a very important business deal. With a total
investment of approximately RMB 1.37 billion (VAT included), ZhongDe will
build the largest waste-to-energy plant in China, respectively Asia. The
plant will be located in Lanzhou City. The project construction is divided
into two phases: Within the first phase a daily waste disposal capacity of
2,000 tons will be achieved. The second phase will increase the daily
capacity up to 3,000 tons.
Lanzhou City, the capital city of Gansu province, is the second largest
city in the Northwest of China with a population of over 3.6 million.
Lanzhou has become the key transportation hub and major logistics centre in
the Northwest of China. As a designated region for industrial development,
the State Council appointed and approved Lanzhou New District to be the
fifth national New Development Zone in China.
With a planning area of 806 square kilometres, the Lanzhou New District
will be the crucial platform for a variety of state strategy
implementations and the key growth pole for the developing Western area.
The 12th Five Year Plan for Western Development, formally approved by the
State Council in 2012, clearly states that it will strengthen the
construction in new districts of the important Western cities.
