Munich, 26 October 2012. The international law firm Noerr LLP was yesterday
selected by the legal publishers JUVE and the British magazine 'The Lawyer'
for several awards in acknowledgement of its work. In Monaco, 'The Lawyer'
named Noerr as 'European law firm of the year' and 'Law firm of the year:
Germany'. In Frankfurt, the JUVE-Verlag named Noerr as 'Law firm of the
year for banking and finance law'. JUVE also selected Noerr as 'Law firm of
the year for restructuring' and 'Law firm of the year for distribution,
commerce and logistics'.
'I thank all our colleagues who by their work have made these awards at all
possible' said Co-Speaker Dr. Dieter Schenk. The basis of the success is
the strategic approach of the law firm practiced over many years with
emphasis on inter-departmental team work and industry-focused advice' added
Co-Speaker Dr. Tobias Bürgers.
The strong growth of the law firm in particular impressed the jury for 'The
Lawyer' awards. Last year, Noerr again achieved above average revenue
growth of 9.3%. Even in the years before that, the law firm continued to
grow contrary to the market trend and also gained in prominence at
international level with its European offices and networks.
With the award 'Law firm of the year for banking and finance law' JUVE
acknowledges that the banking practice has been strategically developed by
its leader Dr. Torsten Fett and by litigation lawyer Christian Kirchner.
'Both have for years personified the close exchange between banking
litigation and regulatory law'. The law firm scored with its work for
several well-known banks. According to the JUVE editors, 'the recent
lateral hires from BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank show how high Noerr's
reputation has meanwhile become in the financial industry'.
Torsten Fett accepted the award at the JUVE Gala in Frankfurt 'The award is
due above all to the excellent cooperation both within the team and with
other Noerr groups and departments' said Fett. 'This year's award as 'Law
firm of the year for banking and finance law' is an incentive for us to
continue on the adopted course', emphasised Christian Kirchner.
With the JUVE awards 'Law firm of the year for restructuring' and 'Law firm
of the year for distribution, commerce and logistics' two other
strategically significant advisory areas were highlighted.
