The Cowboy Rides Away Tour Leads Top Events Rankings for October
(firmenpresse) - SOUTH WINDSOR, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/12 -- Strong ticket sales for George Strait's Cowboy Rides Away Tour displaced the Tony-award winning Broadway hit The Book of Mormon atop ' Monthly Top Events last month. The includes performances throughout 2013 with additional dates expected to carry the tour through 2014. Country musician Martina McBride will be joining Strait on this farewell tour. The celebration of Strait's career is scheduled to begin January 18 in Lubbock, TX. Despite being knocked out of the top spot, The Book of Mormon continued to enjoy impressive sales, placing second in the sales rankings for the month of October 2012.
Pop sensation Pink joined the rankings this month with sales for her tour supporting her latest album The Truth About Love. includes 25 shows scheduled over six weeks beginning February 13, 2013 in Phoenix, AZ. Another pop performer and teen favorite, Justin Bieber, repeats among top sales performers this month. While Maroon 5's Overexposed Tour with Neon Trees & Owl City debuted on the rankings this month in fifth position.
With the approaching holiday season, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra's 2012 Winter Tour: The Lost Christmas Eve moved up a position from September to ninth place. Another seasonal favorite, the , joined the rankings at number eight, just ahead of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's . The Radio City Rockettes are celebrating 85 years of this holiday classic. In addition to performances in New York City, the show is going on tour with dates scheduled in cities including Nashville, TN; St. Louis, MO; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; and Chicago, IL.
