Pöyry awarded EUR 6.1 million tunnel project in Mexico

CONAGUA, Comisión Nacional del Agua has awarded Pöyry a project to provide
specialized advisory services during the construction of the largest wastewater
tunnel in the world, with a length of 62 km and a depth of 200 m. The value of
Pöyry's assignment is EUR 6.1 million.
The consulting services provided by Pöyry cover the scheduling, risk management,
interface management, performance monitoring of the tunnel boring machines and
the installation of Pöyry's 2DOC underground data management system. The
services will be completed by December 2012.
This project will significantly reduce the risk of flooding in Mexico City and
it will improve the safety and wellbeing of the inhabitants and protect their
properties. The new tunnel will add about 150 cubic metres of water per second
capacity once complete.
