PRESS RELEASE
CBF China Bio?Fertilizer AG: Q3 figures reflect a slightly improvement to
Q2 2012
- Very profitable development despite a difficult market situation
- Q3 best quarter in 2012
Hamburg, Germany, November 21, 2012 - CBF China Bio-Fertilizer AG remains
very profitable despite of facing an ongoing negative economic environment.
From January to September, CBF obtained sales revenues of EUR 7.88 million,
which represents a decrease of 30.3 % (Q1-Q3 2011: 11.88 million EUR).
Gross profit dropped to EUR 5.21 million (Q1-Q3 2011: EUR 8.22 million), as
a consequence the gross margin fell to 66.1 % (Q1-Q3 2011: 72.7 %).
However, the Q3-figures reflect a slight improvement compared to Q2 2012
which already was better than the first quarter 2012. Sales increased by
11.8% up to EUR 3.12 million (Q2 2012: EUR 2.79 million) and gross profit
grew considerably to EUR 2.18 million (+21.7%, Q2 2012: EUR 1.79 million),
resulting in a gross margin which slightly exceeds the threshold of 70%.
(Q2 2012: 64.4%). The increase in sales revenues and gross margin in Q3 was
mainly achieved because of a change in the sales mix. Due to seasonal needs
of farmers, more liquid products with a higher unit selling price and gross
margin were sold.
The company is still operating very profitable and shows impressive
financial figures, e.g. an equity ratio above 95%, no bank loans and cash
or cash equivalents of more than EUR 1.8 million. Moreover, the forecast
for full year 2012 published in September - sales revenues of EUR 8-10
million and a gross profit of EUR 5-7 million - will be reached.
Bacteria-based biological fertilizer
CBF's bio fertilizer primarily consist of two different bacteria that, when
put in the ground with the conventional fertilizers convert phosphorus and
potassium into a form that is easily absorbed by plants. Using this bio
fertilizer reduces the need for chemical fertilizers by up to 30% and,
depending on the type of plant, boosts crop yields by up to 30%.
About CBF China Bio-Fertilizer AG
CBF China Bio-Fertilizer AG ('CBF') produces and distributes bio fertilizer
