Endurance Appoints John L. O'Connor as Chief Operations Officer

PEMBROKE, Bermuda - December 17, 2012 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd.
(NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty
insurance and reinsurance, today announced that John L. O'Connor has been
promoted to the new role of Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for
Information Technology, Program Management, Strategic Sourcing and Insurance and
Reinsurance Underwriting Operations. Mr. O'Connor will continue to report to
Chief Executive Officer David Cash in this new position.
David Cash commented, "Through his tenure at Endurance John has built
Endurance's internal operations into a highly effective team responsible for
delivering technology, services and infrastructure to our underwriting and
functional teams in the US, Bermuda, Europe and Asia. In creating this new role
and appointing John to this position, Endurance is acknowledging the critical
role Operations will play for Endurance in the future and the significant
contributions John has made to their success."
Mr. O'Connor served as Endurance's Chief Administrative Officer since September
2011 having joined the company in October 2004 as President and Chief Operating
Officer of Endurance Services Limited. Prior to joining Endurance, Mr. O'Connor
was a Partner with Accenture where he held several leadership positions in
addition to providing consulting services to insurance clients. Mr. O'Connor
holds a Certified Public Accountant designation and a Fellow of the Life
Management Institute designation. He is a graduate of Fairfield University.
