2G reports record new orders in first quarter of 2010
Heek, May 26, 2010 - 2G-Bio-Energietechnik AG (2G), one of Germany's
leading manufacturers of combined heat and power (CHP) plants, continues to
chart its consistent growth course. Despite very extreme weather
conditions, the company significantly improved its total output on a
year-on-year comparison in the first quarter of 2010. 2G also reported
record new orders for both biogas-driven and natural-gas-driven combined
heat and power (CHP) plants.
By March 31, 2010, the company had secured orders for more than 26 new
plants, predominantly from regional utilities. 2G is currently negotiating
the conclusion of further master agreements. Sales of biogas-driven CHPs
reported even more gratifying growth. In this area, a total of 117 orders
had already been secured by March 31, 2010, representing 47% of the
previous year's total order intake. As a consequence, the total order book
position amounted to around EUR 35 million at the end of the first quarter
(previous year: EUR 18.0 million).
2G's business progress showed significantly more lively developments in
March than in the first two months of the year, which were particularly
affected by the severe winter. According to CEO Christian Grotholt, the
company is entirely within its budgets, which envisage new record results
for 2010. As already announced, this will reflect the first-time
contribution of the delivery of WhisperGen by 2G Home GmbH, which is
already underway (Q1 2010 revenue: EUR 500,000). Total output of EUR 8.9
million, and an order book position of approximately EUR 35 million in the
first quarter of 2010, represent a further significant growth leap
following revenue of EUR 51.2 million in the entire previous year.
Q1 quarterly comparison:
Key figure (in EUR million) 2009 2010 Change
Revenue 4.0 4.5 +12.5%
Total output 5.2 8.9 + 71 %
EBIT 0.0 0.0 0%
