Leipzig/Zörbig, 29 June 2010 - at yesterday's general annual meeting of
VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG the CEO Claus Sauter stressed in his speech
the economic importance of the worldwide only existing combination of
plants to produce bioethanol, biomethane und biofertilizer.
'It makes us proud, that we are the first company worldwide which operates
such a bio refinery concept in an industrial scale. As raw material we use
thin stillage an output of the bioethanol production and non-food residual
material which so far was brought to the fields as fertilizer.', stated
Claus Sauter.
The production plants for biogas were ramped up successfully and according
to plan at the locations in Zörbig und Schwedt/Oder. On July 6, 2010 the
celebratory startup of the biogas plant in Zörbig will take place. 'In the
first stage of implementation our plants will have a size of 30 Megawatt
each and they will produce about 480 GWh per year. The first time of
feed-in to the gas grid is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2010. In the
mid-term it is planned to increase the capacity to 125 Megawatt.', said
Claus Sauter.
In 2010 and 2011 VERBIO will use the time to further optimize and improve
the technique of its biogas technology. 'The amount of biomethane produced
will then be up to 1.000 GWh per year, which should add about 60 million
Euro to Group sales without generating additional raw material costs.',
explained the CEO of VERBIO.
Thus VERBIO has achieved its strategic goal to set up the whole value chain
of a fuel producer under optimized energy-efficiency criteria's. And this
related to the production plants as well as to the total balance of the
products. Therefore VERBIO is already today well prepared to fulfill the
required CO2 reduction criteria of the European Union.
With the end of the general meeting 2010 Bernd Sauter resigned as a member
of the Supervisory Board. With 99.99 per cent of the authorized capital
Ulrike Krämer was elected as new member of the Supervisory Board.
About 80 shareholders attended today's General Annual Meeting at the
Radisson Blu in Leipzig. 75.42 percent of the shareholders' voting rights
were represented at the Annual Meeting. The shareholder agreed to all items
of the agenda with vast majority. The detailed voting results can be found
