Eindhoven, June 30, 2010 - Catalis SE, the worldwide service provider for
the digital media and entertainment industry is pleased to announce that
the retail edition of 'Art Academy: Learn painting and drawing techniques
with step-by-step training' has achieved great chart success since going on
sale on 19 June 2010.
With remarkable sales of 21,000+ units (figures from Media Create, June
14-20) in the first week at retail, Art Academy has entered the Japanese
All Formats Games Chart at number three. Furthermore, there are reports
that demand has outstripped supply, as the title has sold out in many
regions and almost 90% of initial stock has moved in this brief
post-release window.
Art Academy has been developed by Catalis-owned studio Headstrong Games as
a second-party title for Nintendo Corporation Limited. The game is
exclusively for Nintendo's DS and DSi hand-held gaming platforms which have
an installed base of over 125 million units.
The boxed retail edition follows on from the success and popular following
of the DSi Digital Download editions, already available in Japan, Europe
and the USA. Art Academy is part of Nintendo's suite of 'Touch Generations'
titles aimed at a mass audience, which also includes the 17 million+
selling 'Brain Training' franchise.
