Optimizing material flows using innovative transport and handling equipment
The LKE Group - makers of transport equipment - will be demonstrating its range of transport and handling equipment for in-house applications at this year’s POWTECH which is being held from 23 to 25 April. Especially in environments where hygiene and the risk of explosion are a prime source of concern, transport and handling equipment made by LKE have set standards for in-company transport systems.

(firmenpresse) - This is particularly true for the world-wide unique and much copied aluminium pallets which can be obtained direct from the makers and deployed across all sectors of industry. LKE pallets are available in a variety of dimensions for all conceivable fields of applications – as full deck pallet, pallet deck with cross bars or longitudinal bars, with bottom runners or corner feet – the variety of applications of LKE pallets is unrivalled. And the AluClean® Hygiene Polish Surface treatment process means that surfaces are protected 100 per cent from bacteria growth. All the welded seams on LKE aluminium pallets are waterproof, the pallets are resistant to fluctuations in temperature, rustproof, reparable and have a long service life. Furthermore, the pallets are taste- and odour-free, suitable for use on roller conveyors, stackable and have an extremely high loading capacity.
Other advantages include 100 per cent recyclability (the scrap value covers 25 per cent of the purchasing price), 30 per cent less weight than conventional plastic pallets on the market, fire-resistant (meaning lower insurance costs), trackability and traceability (RFID) - all of which allow an immediate reduction in operative supply chain costs simply by employing LKE pallets.
The modular construction of the ROBUSTO-LIFTER systems has set new standards in the industry. They can be used to transport goods such as drums, containers, rolls of plastic foil and reduce costs in material flow. For example, the tried-and-tested ROBUSTO FL 350 GBK which is used in a large range of applications can be adapted in just seconds to a variety of drum dimensions and is therefore excellently suited for individual applications. The lifter is fitted with a linear grab slewing device with which drums from 350 to 600 mm in diameter can be tilted. The lifter is standardly available with rapid lift, soft lowering and synchronic telescopic hydraulics. The lifter can also be supplied with two lifting heights (720 mm or 1000 mm) and a variety of lifting systems – hand-operated, electrical or pneumatic.
The ROBUSTO LIFT FL 120 GBK is ideal for handling small-scale loads in the chemical-pharmaceutical sector. The lifter is made completely of stainless steel and also features a linear-mounted grabbing device to deal with a variety of drums in various diameters as well a hand-operated tilting device. The lifter is optionally available with an electric lift, pneumatic lift, diverse attachments such as a drum grabber and titling systems. One lifter is specially designed for use in EX-environments.
Other products which will allow optimum material flow are the mobile ROBUSTO lift trucks with integrated scales. With this product, goods can be weighed, counted, metered, formulated, filled, printed, documented and easily transported. Moreover, the equipment is thoroughly compatible with other renowned makers of weighing systems such as Mettler Toledo or Systec. The high-precision construction and the level of technical know-how allow LKE to provide a variety of weighing solutions. Weighing cells mounted on floating bearings and multi-range scales are just two of the many advantages which ensure the user flexibility and reliability in daily use with the ROBUSTO lift trucks with integrated scales. Equipment designed for EX environments for Zones 1.2, 21 and 22 and EX classes : II 2G IIC T4, II, 2D T50° and -10° C Ta +40° C is also available.
The ROBUSTO lifters are made completely of stainless steel and their enormous range of applications, low un-laden weight and high loading capacity cannot fail to convince. The hydraulics of the ROBUSTO 2300 are made completely of stainless steel, without lubrication nipple and exposed chains and is available standard-wise with a rapid lift and soft lowering system. All components are deep-welded and electro-polished so that corrosion becomes a thing of the past.
If rigid stainless steel containers are to be replaced, in particular, where FIBC’s are to be transported, LKE has developed MBF frames with which the mini-bag frames can be easily transported. The frames are available in a variety of designs, in aluminium, stainless steel and have numerous optional features.
To summarize:
The best possible material flow, GMP compatibility and ergonomics are only just a few of the advantages which make LKE products simply indispensible for in-company transport.

Unternehmensinformation / Kurzprofil:
The foundation of LKE Group dates back to 1994 - the year, in which LKE took up its headquarters in Marl, Germany. Distribution partnerships in France, the Czech Republic and Hungary as well as production partnerships in China and Taiwan underlined the future business direction. The company was expanded by the addition of a second production site in Grossenhain, Saxony, in 2008 which marked a first milestone in company history. It paved the way to develop, produce and globally distribute high-quality transport solutions.
The next intermediate goal on LKE's way to success was realised in 2009 with the foundation of a subsidiary in Poland, LKE Polska Sp. z o.o.. Due to the gradual expansion of the worldwide network to 45 partner companies, LKE Group is now represented on all continents.
Together with LKE Schneider Leichtbau GmbH in Freiburg, Germany - specialised on transport and handling solutions for the aviation, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry - that joined the group in 2012, the company group now counts approximately 350 employees.
