(firmenpresse) - -Strong local partner Gascontrol
-Acceleration of project roll-out
-Target areas: Czech Republic / Poland

Berlin, July 28th, 2010 – After successful commissioning of the first microturbine plant in Havirov (Czech Republic), Greenvironment plc (“GIV”) has proved its durability during nearly four months of operating time. The microturbine running with natural gas produces 65kW electrical power and 130kW thermal heat.

The successful test of the first microturbine paved the ground for a long-term strategic cooperation with a strong local partner to minimize risk and accelerate project roll-out. Greenvironment and Gascontrol společnost s r.o. (http://www.gascontrol.cz) have now agreed on creating a 50/50 joint venture based in Havirov for the roll-out of decentralized microturbine power plants in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Greenvironment will provide the CHP plant technology and know-how, centralized operational as well as maintenance services to the joint venture and benefits from the economic value of its 50 percent share in this joint venture. The short-term goal of the JV is the installation of 4.5 MW electrical power until 2011.

“We as Gascontrol Group have defined the microturbine technology to be one of our future core technologies in energy generation. We are convinced about microturbines to be a clean, efficient and reliable technology for the combined heat and power generation. With a group turn-over of 35 million Euro in 2009, the move into power generation is only a logical step”, said Mieczyslaw Molenda, founder and director of Gascontrol.

Peter Dorner, COO of Greenvironment plc, stated as follows: “This is a great step in our strategy towards growing our business in Eastern Europe. The Czech Republic provides a clear opportunity for distributed power generation due to European Union political and financial support and infrastructure investments needed in competing solutions. With Gascontrol we have a solid partner for both targeting the local markets and also gaining the technological back-up for complex CHP-installations in Eastern Europe.”
