Pöyry PLC: Pöyry awarded design services for Western Metro extension in Helsinki capital region

Pöyry has been awarded design assignments by Länsimetro Oy for the Western Metro
extension in Finland. The Western Metro line extension runs in Espoo, the third
largest city in Finland. It will be part of the metro system in the Helsinki
capital region. This new 8 km long track will bring the metro within the reach
of 50 000 people in southwestern parts of Espoo. The extension is estimated to
be ready in 2018. Pöyry has also provided engineering services for the first
phase of the Western Metro line, which is currently under construction and is
scheduled to be in operation in 2015.
Pöyry's current services cover track engineering, rock and geotechnical
engineering, architectural design and structural engineering, as well as in
certain stations and depots. Pöyry will deliver some of these services in
cooperation with other consulting companies. The design work started in March.
The total value of Pöyry's services is in the region of EUR 6.3 MEUR, of which
4.7 MEUR has been booked to Regional Operations business line's order stock in
Q1/2013 and the remaining part will be booked in Q2/2013.

Pöyry is currently involved also in other significant infrastructure projects in
Espoo, such as Espoo city rail. Pöyry has long experience in carrying out public
transport projects worldwide.
