Revenues up 14.1% to MEUR 107.4
itelligence records revenues growth of 36.8% in Eastern Europe
Efficiency program to improve earnings initiated
Bielefeld, April 24, 2013 - With the publication of its first quarterly
report for 2013, itelligence AG is confirming its positive revenues
performance in the early part of the current fiscal year. The 14.1%
increase in total revenues to MEUR 107.4 (previous year: MEUR 94.1) is due
in particular to the performance of all segments other than the core DACH
region (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) and serves to underline the strength
of itelligence AG's international positioning. Orders on hand increased by
9.4% to total MEUR 300.2 at March 31, 2013 (previous year: MEUR 274.3).
itelligence enjoyed particularly strong growth in Eastern Europe, with
revenues rising by 36.8%, from MEUR 6.8 to MEUR 9.3. The largest revenues
contribution was provided by the DACH region, which saw growth of 4.7% to
MEUR 45.0 after MEUR 43.0 in the previous year. The USA was the second
strongest geographical segment in terms of revenues, generating MEUR 25.4
after MEUR 21.3 in the previous year (+19.2%). Western Europe also made a
significant contribution to the Company's revenues growth, with segment
revenues improving by 21.4% year-on-year, from MEUR 20.6 to MEUR 25.0.
Finally, the Asia segment recorded revenues growth of 42.9% to MEUR 2.0
(previous year: MEUR 1.4).
Herbert Vogel, CEO of itelligence AG: 'Fiscal 2013 did not start as
planned. Although itelligence recorded revenues growth across all segments
and divisions, we failed to meet our own expectations in terms of EBIT
profitability. Our aim is to reach the target level in our Consulting
business in particular. We are concentrating our efforts on achieving a
significant improvement in profitability.'
In the first three months of 2013, earnings before interest and taxes
(EBIT) decreased from MEUR 3.8 to MEUR 2.1, while the EBIT margin amounted
to 2.0% after 4.0% in the same period of the previous year. This
development is primarily attributable to the lower level of consultant
utilization in Germany and the USA. itelligence AG therefore reported a
consolidated net profit (profit after taxes) of MEUR 1.2 in the first
quarter after MEUR 2.4 in the same period of the previous year. Earnings
per share amounted to EUR 0.02 compared with EUR 0.08 in the previous year.
Norbert Rotter, CFO of itelligence AG: 'The start to the current fiscal
year failed to meet our expectations. This is why we have launched
efficiency programs aimed at significantly improving our earnings situation
over the course of the year. Our target for 2013 remains to generate
revenues of between MEUR 450-470 and above-average earnings growth, thereby
allowing us to achieve an EBIT margin in excess of 6%.'
