Frankfurt, 4 June 2013 - Years ago it was merely a side issue, but now it
is more solidly established than ever in corporate groups: internal
management consulting. One proof of this rapid development is the strong
growth of the Inhouse Consulting Network, which is now celebrating its 10th
anniversary. This forum for the exchange of interests and experience
amongst leading internal management consultants was founded in 2003 by 15
in-house consulting units as the Inhouse Consulting Roundtable, and
currently numbers 29 companies. Not only have membership numbers increased
continually over the years, but the network has also become more
international. Whereas in its founding year all the member companies were
based in Germany, the consulting units now come from four different
countries.

'The ongoing success and continuous growth of the sector proves the Network
is on the right path. Inhouse consulting has long become established as a
high quality alternative to using external management consultancy
companies', said Alexander Meyer auf der Heyde, head of Bayer Business
Consulting, confirming the upward trend. 'The Network has more than
fulfilled our expectations. Not only is the sharing of information with the
other members across sectors a win-win situation for us, so too is the
range of joint seminars and advanced training courses.'

Around 1,700 internal consultants currently work in the member companies of




the Inhouse Consulting Network, thus representing a significant share of
the entire German consulting market. The member companies created 400 new
jobs - from new graduates via young professionals to senior consultants -
in 2012 alone. There is a demand for consultants for both strategic and
operational projects, and proximity to the company is of great advantage as
this guarantees sustainable solutions that are entirely geared to the needs
of the company and its employees. In addition to providing consulting
services, the in-house consulting units are also a key element of corporate
human resource development.

Over the years, what began as an informal initiative has developed into a
robust network, and in this way in-house consulting organisations have been
able to develop a broad and well-founded platform. These benchmarks allow
companies to directly compare specific competences and themes with other
companies - always, of course, bearing the compliance requirements of the
parent companies in mind - and draw conclusions which can then be directly
applied to improving their own company. It is precisely this platform in
terms of content that the members of the network aim to expand in the
coming years - to the advantage of the companies concerned.

In addition to this cross-sector exchange, a great many consultants also
take advantage of the jointly developed training courses. These allow them
to improve the skills required for everyday consulting and meet up with
colleagues from other internal management consulting units. Plans are in
place to expand the range of training courses available in 2013. In
addition to cooperating in the field of training, in November 2008 seven
members of the Network launched the initiative 'dichter dran' (being
closer), which aims to provide both the public and potential applicants
with an opportunity to take a closer look at in-house consulting. To date
the in-house consulting units of 15 leading German companies have joined
the initiative.

The Inhouse Consulting Network was established in 2003 and currently has 29
members. It stands for the on-going exchange of experiences and best
practices regarding topics such as methodology and quality standards in the
field of Inhouse Consulting as well as benchmarking beyond corporate
borders. In 2008 the initiative 'dichter dran' (being closer) was launched
by a number of the network's members to give the general public and
potential applicants an insight into the world of Inhouse Consulting and to
create a profile for internal consulting. The website
