Deadline to Enter Innovative Video Contest Extended!

A Million Acts of Friendship video contest challenges families to share and celebrate friendship


(firmenpresse) - KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/20/13 -- Children and families in Canada now have more time to qualify for their share of more than $2,500 worth of prizes in the Just Be Friends™ () A Million Acts of Friendship Video Contest.

The deadline to enter the contest, which challenges families across the country to create and submit a short video that captures what friendship means to them, has been extended to October 14, 2013.

"We're absolutely delighted with the creativity and thought that's gone into the video entries submitted so far, and we're so excited to share them," says Just Be Friends™ founder and CEO Janice Taylor. "At the same time, we know a lot of kids have been so busy enjoying their summer they haven't had time to enter so we decided to extend the entry deadline in an effort to ensure more families could participate!"

The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 cash, a $1,000 donation to their school, an Apple iPad Mini, a backpack full of goodies, a six-month subscription to Just Be Friends™, and the opportunity to have their video featured in a national marketing campaign for Just Be Friends™.

Just Be Friends™ is an interactive, social education platform that helps families and children connect, with each other and with their community. Just Be Friends™ includes a website for families, and programs such as the school-based A Million Acts of Friendship campaign and the A Million Acts of Friendship video contest.

The 15 videos that receive the most "Likes" will go before a jury and be narrowed down to three finalists, from which members of the public will choose first, second and third place winners. The contest is open to residents of all Canadian provinces, excluding Quebec. To view videos, or to submit one, visit
