The Kuoni Group reports improved bottom-line results for the first half of
2010 compared to the same period last year. Earnings before interest and
taxes (EBIT) amounted to CHF - 37.8 million,while underlying EBIT1
stood at CHF - 1.8 million,a CHF 31 million improvement on the prioryear
period. Turnover was broadly maintained at prior-year levels at CHF 1 756
million, down 0.2 %, despite a difficult operating environment.The net
result amounted to CHF - 46.1 million.Free cash flow increased
substantially by CHF 84 million on the prior-year period to CHF 97 million.
2010 bookings for the last eight weeks have been some 9 % above their
prior-year levels. For the 2010 business year as a whole, the Kuoni Group
expects to post low-single-digit-percentage turnover growth and an
underlying EBIT margin close to 3 %.
