The Wiener Philharmoniker and Lucerne based marketing agency, T.E.A.M.
Marketing AG, have agreed to extend their successful partnership for a
further five years from 2012 through to 2017.
Since the beginning of the partnership in 2007 the televised presence of
the New Year's Concert has been increased to cover more than 70 countries
worldwide with the support of ROLEX as the exclusive partner of the
orchestra. Further, the Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn is now established
as an international television event, transmitted in over 60 countries.
Dr Clemens Hellsberg, Chairman of the Board of the Wiener Philharmoniker
commented on what is a unique partnership in the world of classical music
and explained that he is very pleased with the performance of T.E.A.M. in
the past 'and that it continues to be an important goal for the Wiener
Philharmoniker to support the spread of classical music to new audiences
and to further develop the brand 'Wiener Philharmoniker' together with
T.E.A.M..'
Bernhard Burgener, Chairman of the Board of T.E.A.M., added 'that the
openness and innovative capabilities of this world-wide renowned orchestra
played a significant role in the positive development of the marketing
platform over the past years' and that T.E.A.M. is pleased 'to further
contribute to this development with its know-how.'
The Wiener Philharmoniker
The Wiener Philharmoniker is organised as a private association and was
founded in 1842. It is made up from members of the Viennese State Opera
Orchestra. The Wiener Philharmoniker plays at around 300 opera evenings at
the State Opera and, beyond that, some 90 additional concerts per year.
Some of these concerts are subscription or special concerts played in
Vienna and others are worldwide concert tours under the direction of some
of the most famous conductors of our time. The most well known concert is
the New Year's Concert.
T.E.A.M. - Television Event and Media Marketing AG
T.E.A.M., a subsidiary of Highlight Communications AG, is a company
specialising in the worldwide marketing of international television events.
The company employs over 140 staff members in Lucerne and is well known
through its partnership with UEFA (the governing body of European football)
and the EBU (the European Broadcasting Union). Since 1991 UEFA has
appointed T.E.A.M. to undertake the exclusive marketing of the UEFA
Champions League. Equally, the EBU has engaged T.E.A.M. in 2004 to market
the Eurovision Song Contest.
