Dürr ranked among Germany's top automotive employers
Bietigheim-Bissingen, October 8, 2010 - Dürr has been rated one of the most
attractive employers among the automotive industry's parts and equipment
suppliers in Germany. In the high-profile 'Top Employers Automotive
2010/2011' contest, the machinery and plant engineering firm came fifth out
of 25 companies in the final ranking. This had been preceded by an
assessment process lasting several months conducted at the contestants by
CRF-Institute, the firm responsible for the survey.
Dürr was awarded the top rating in three of the six categories examined. In
addition to innovation management and work life balance, this also included
compensation. In the case of the latter criterion, a panel of experts
assesses, among other things, the structure, transparency, and market
adequatness of the remuneration system. Dürr also scored well in the other
three categories of career opportunities, training&development, and
corporate culture.
Ralf Dieter, Dürr AG's CEO, commented: 'Companies' success will depend even

highly qualified new entrants as an employer. The Top Employers award shows
that Dürr is well equipped to meet this challenge, and motivates us to

The fifth place in the 'Top Employers Automotive' ranking is Dürr's second
employer award in Germany within a short space of time. Last year, the
company, which employs about 3,000 people in Germany and over 5,700
worldwide, came 9th out of 34 finalists in the 'Top Employers Engineering'
ranking. The Top Employers contests have been conducted since 1991 and are
one of the most important rankings of this kind in Germany.
Dürr is a mechanical and plant engineering group that holds leading
positions in the world market in its areas of operation. It generates a
good 80% of its sales in business with the automotive industry. It
furthermore supplies the aircraft, machinery, chemical, and pharmaceutical
industries with innovative production and environmental technology. The
Dürr Group operates in the market with two divisions. The Paint and
Assembly Systems division supplies production and painting technology,
especially for car bodies. Machinery and systems from the Measuring and
Process Systems division are used in engine and transmission manufacturing
and in final vehicle assembly, among other areas. Dürr has 48 business
locations in 21 countries worldwide. The Group achieved sales of EUR 1.1
billion with approximately 5,700 employees in 2009.
