The legal publisher Juve has named Noerr LLP as 'Law Firm of the Year' for
M&A and for Dispute Resolution. This was announced by the publisher at the
'Juve Awards 2010' yesterday in Frankfurt am Main.
In the area of M&A, the jury was particularly impressed that Noerr was able
to increase its market share against the general trend. The citation reads:
'The law firm [can], due to strategic practice development, meanwhile
display an enormous track record as well as market shares which will in
future assure it of an even clearer strong position. [.]. The lawyers are
[.] in strong demand for complicated joint ventures and transaction
structures for Dax30 companies.' As grounds for the success, Juve
emphasises, together with Noerr's concentration on distressed M&A, the
farseeing commitment of the law firm to its engagement in Eastern Europe
and the successful generation change.
With the award as 'Law Firm of the Year' for Dispute Resolution, Juve
acknowledges that the law firm, with its 'farseeing personnel planning, has
expanded the practice to a decisively wide range'. With 'large and able
teams in Munich and Düsseldorf', Noerr has significantly expanded its
'excellent reputation' not only for major D&O liability cases and product
recalls. In addition, Noerr - under the leadership of the Berlin partner
Hans Christian Kirchner - has succeeded 'against many top practices' in the
competition for the nationwide litigation representation of Deutsche Bank,
states the citation.
Dr. Alexander Ritvay, together with Dr. Thomas Schulz, co-head of the
Corporate Department, accepted the award as Law Firm of the Year for M&A.
Together with the Berlin Noerr partner Prof. Dr. Christian Pleister, he
significantly expanded the distressed M&A practice. Ritvay was very
satisfied with the award and sees it as acknowledgement for the earlier
expansion. 'We have, particularly in the Corporate Department, a very
strong young partner generation working together closely and effectively in
the deal teams' said Ritvay.
The award as 'Law Firm of the Year' for Dispute Resolution was accepted by
Dr. Oliver Sieg, expert for corporate litigation, who, together with
Michael Molitoris, leads the Litigation Department. 'The market shows us
that we are on the right path and we are delighted with the award' said
Sieg who, with Dr. Anke Meier, Helmut Katschthaler and Christian Stempfle
in Munich, numbers distinguished experts for major arbitrations and
liability cases in his team together with the corporate litigation
specialists, Dr. Sarah Schmidt-Versteyl and Dr. Ingo Theusinger.
'These awards are also the result of successful teamwork within the law
firm - not only in the successful categories M&A and Dispute Resolution but
between all departments. Our strategy of combining highest intra-team
quality within our focused Full Service approach is thereby vindicated
again' said Dr. Tobias Bürgers, co-speaker of the law firm.
International Acknowledgement too
The fact that Noerr is at the forefront throughout Europe in M&A is
emphasised - coinciding with the opening of the London office in October
2010 - by many awards and nominations. Mergermarket and the Financial Times
have included Noerr in the European M&A awards 2010, which will be decided
at the beginning of December in London, for 'Country Award: Legal Adviser -
Germany' in the British legal awards of Legal Week, also to be awarded at
the beginning of December in London, Noerr is listed as 'European Law Firm
of the Year'. Noerr's performance in M&A and the step to London are the
grounds. In addition, Noerr belongs to the five strong finalists for the
Lawyer European Awards 2010 in the category 'Law Firm of the Year: Germany'
for M&A. Moreover, in 2010 Noerr has been honoured with the Gold Award as
'Best German Law Firm' for M&A at the 2010 International Legal Alliance
Summit&Awards in Paris.
Noerr also enjoys internationally an excellent reputation for Dispute
Resolution. At the 2010 Global Law Experts Awards, Noerr was selected as
'Litigation Law Firm of the Year' for Germany. The expert jury based its
selection on approx. 18,000 comments from market players such as companies,
in-house lawyers and lawyers' associations in a peer review as well as on
such criteria as client statements, important cases in the past year and
publications.
