Doublesix and Koch Media's Deep Silver cooperate on new Special Editions
version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Eindhoven, December 01, 2010 - Catalis SE, the worldwide service provider
for the digital media and entertainment industry, is pleased to announce
that Doublesix is developing a new title based on the Who Wants to be a
Millionaire franchise. The project is in partnership with Koch Media's Deep
Silver, who will work with Doublesix to publish and market the game, slated
for digital distribution in spring 2011. The collaboration will see a
Special Editions version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire for multiple
platforms, including PSN / XBLA / PC, with the game allowing players to
expand their experience with specially branded question packs and themed
sets based on popular entertainment brands.
The Doublesix and Deep Silver partnership is in association with Who Wants
to be a Millionaire brand owner 2waytraffic who have signed a multi-year
agreement with Doublesix for Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Special
Editions that include the potential for further digital platform
extensions. Executive Producer at Koch Media's Deep Silver, Guido
Eickmeyer, said of the partnership, 'We are very pleased to be matching the
collective digital development talent of Doublesix with Koch Media's Deep
Silver brand, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire Special Editions provides a
fresh creative twist to a very popular format that we believe will
translate well across digital platforms.'
James Brooksby, Doublesix studio head, said that the first three
entertainment co-brands would be revealed in the run-up to the game's
release: 'We are looking forward to working with Deep Silver to release a
compelling version of the world's most popular game show. The Special
Editions format has been very positively received by the entertainment
co-brand partners we've engaged with in the US and Europe, all of whom are
fans of the show and share our enthusiasm for this new creative approach to
Who Wants to be a Millionaire for downloadable games platforms.'
Doublesix focuses on developing and publishing games for digital
distribution channels and has two other action titles currently in
development and also scheduled for release in 2011.
