Central ServiceDesk KIX4OTRS in the Univention App Center
The company c.a.p.e. IT delivers KIX4OTRS 6.0 as a flexible ServiceDesk software for Univention App Center. The offered ServiceDesk includes among all ergonomic user interfaces developed from the best practice and extended integration possibilities for external data. KIX4OTRS 6.0 can be installed within few clicks and integrates itself completely into the Univention Corporate Server (UCS).
(firmenpresse) - Chemnitz/Bremen, 17.07.2014 – Through the integration of KIX4OTRS, which was launech in February 2014 by the vendor capeIT, IT environments based on the Univention Corporate Server, a key product of software company Univention, can be expanded easily by ServiceDesk. The capeIT offers a pre-configured solution so that the data of IT users and service agents don't have to be maintain in two systems separately, but instead, they come from the UCS infrastructure. The ServiceDesk can be used directly after installation. Download and installation of KIX4OTRS in the Univention App Center are advised for all, who already use the UCS as the IT base. KIX4OTRS expands the open source solution OTRS by a variety of additional features and improvements as well as by an ergonomic user interface. The version 6.0 is based on OTRS community version 3.3.
KIX4OTRS 6.0 includes an interactive CI graph for clear displaying of IT inventory and easy navigation through the IT landscape, and allows a quick linking of configuration items. Additionally, KIX4OTRS offers text modules, which can be administrated and displayed within set categories, and subscriptions for search templates within service groups. The system can be extended by further maintained modules of the capeIT. Rico Barth, CEO of the capeIT, explains: “KIX4OTRS became a powerful and comfortable tool. The version 6.0 offers an easy access into the ITIL best practices.”
With the new version of KIX4OTRS in the Univention App Center, capeIT informs about the end of further development of older versions. capeIT also advises to upgrade running systems to the current version of KIX4OTRS. If needed, the customers can fall back on capeIT in case of administration trainings or support for data migration from older versions into the current one.
