Seesmart LEDs featured in pilot project in San Diego store
Simi Valley, CA, USA - A national fast food chain with over 2,000
restaurants throughout the U.S. has begun installing Seesmart, Inc. LED
lighting products in a San Diego, California restaurant location. The
lighting retrofit is a pilot project for LED lighting use in the chain's
stores and the results of the retrofit will help direct the company's
energy efficiency initiatives.
LED lighting has replaced fluorescent lighting above the front counter, in
the cooking area, in the walk-in freezers, and in the prep area in the
restaurant. In total, 56 fluorescent tube lights in the facility have been
replaced with Seesmart LED T8 tube lights.
The retrofit has produced big gains in efficiency and light output levels.
The 15 Watt LED tube lights are over 53% more efficient than their 32 Watt
predecessors and rated for up to 50,000 hours. As a result, the lighting
retrofit will pay for itself in savings on energy and maintenance costs
within just 14.2 months. Additionally, all areas of the restaurant in
which LEDs are installed are now attaining between 3 to 50 more footcandles
than they were underneath fluorescent lighting.
