Gigaset AG sells confectionery manufacturer, van Netten
Munich, 17 May 2011 - As part of its realignment, Gigaset AG sold the
confectioners, van Netten to a strategic investor. Thus, Gigaset AG has
disassociated itself from the last subsidiary that no longer belongs to the
business model, telecommunications and accessories. Through the sale
further risks could be deconsolidated and a positive result could be
achieved. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Closing is
the end of June 2011.
van Netten GmbH is a general supplier of innovative and fine quality
candies. van Netten supplies large trade chains and discounters with trade
brands and store brands. The product range includes fruit chews (sweet and
sour coated), whipped sugar sweets, chocolate-covered jellies and creams,
hard and soft candy, chocolates beans, as well as hard caramels.
Gigaset AG, Munich, is a worldwide operating company in the
telecommunication and accessories sector. The company is a leading global
producer of cordless phones and Europe's market leader in DECT phones.
