(firmenpresse) - KITIGAN ZIBI ANISHINABEG FIRST NATION, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/07/14 -- The Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation community Chief and Band Council put Canada, Quebec and Ontario on Notice on October 3, 2014 and such in light of the Tsilhqot'in Supreme Court of Canada decision which was handed down on June 26, 2014. The Chief and Band Council stated in their letter, "Our traditional territory has always been and continues to be, Unceded. We hereby put Canada, Quebec and Ontario on notice that status quo, in which our Aboriginal title lands are taken up by governments and industry, is not acceptable".

The Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Chief and Band Council expects that the Crown will act in an honourable manner and work towards reconciliation while immediately confirming the title lands of the Algonquin Nation. "It is my sincere hope that Canada, Quebec and Ontario will not proceed in a belief that it is business as usual. The Tsilhqot'in case has come to significantly change the legal landscape" stated Chief Gilbert W. Whiteduck.

The Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg community is the largest of the 10 communities that make up the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation. The KZA community is located 130 North of Ottawa Ontario.
