Veidekke ASA: Veidekke to build new commercial building in Uppsala

Veidekke's Swedish subsidiary Arcona has been awarded the contract by Jernhusen
to build the Eldaren quarter in Storgatan in Uppsala as a turnkey contract. The
contract includes erecting a new commercial building around 8,900 square metres
in size right next to the central station, Uppsala concert and congress centre
and the old freight warehouse, which includes both shops and restaurants. The
projects starts in February and is scheduled for completion in June 2016. The
contract is for SEK 130 million excluding VAT.
The building will be six storeys high with a large roof terrace, and the total
gross floor area will be around 8,900 square metres shared between offices,
shops and restaurants. The property is already largely leased to Uppsala County
Council, which is leasing the entire office section.
The building will be built according to the Sweden Green Building Council system
with Silver rating.
