Dr. Hymel Recognized for the Intellectual Property Underlying Signal Advance Technology
(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 06/15/15 -- Signal Advance, Inc. (OTC PINK: SIGL) announced today that the Company's Founder, Chris M. Hymel, Ph.D., was named 2015 Inventor of the Year by the State Bar of Texas Intellectual Property Section. The award was based on his U.S. Patent 8,452,544, "Utility and method for the application of signal advance amplification to analog waveform or signal detection, acquisition and processing." This patent is the basis for the on-going development and commercialization of Signal Advance technology.
Signal Advance technology temporally-advances "real-world" analog signals that represent physical properties such as pressure, flow, position, vibration, temperature, pressure, proximity, bioelectric activity (EKG, EEG, etc.). The signal that exits a Signal Advance circuit actually precedes the complete detection of the input signal. This signal time advance could potentially offset or significantly reduce signal detection delays associated with a variety of physical sensors to improve performance in control, intervention, and/or signal transmission systems. Reducing or offsetting response delays could assist in more positive outcomes for medical interventional devices and improved fuel use/efficiency along with reduced emissions in transportation. The prolific variant of beneficial applications also includes increased yields in manufacturing and production and more accurate real-time targeting in military defense.
Dr. Hymel, the Founder and President of Signal Advance, Inc., holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in electrical engineering from Texas A & M University and a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center. He will receive the Inventor of the Year award at the Intellectual Property luncheon during the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in San Antonio, on June 19, 2015.
