Changes to the Telenor Group Executive Management

(Fornebu 27.08.2010) Bjørn Magnus Kopperud, Executive Vice President and Head of
Telenor Group People & Organisation, has been appointed Deputy Head of Telenor
Central and Eastern Europe. He will take up his new position following today's
announcement and withdraw from the Group Executive Management.
- Bjørn Magnus Kopperud has since he joined Telenor in 1994 held several senior
positions related to our international operations and since 2003 served Telenor
well as the head of our Group People & Organisation unit (human resources
department). He has been responsible for developing and implementing what we
call the Telenor Way that defines how we do business in Telenor, said Jon
Fredrik Baksaas, CEO and President of the Telenor Group. - I am also pleased
that he will take on the new challenge in the CEE region. It is a good example
of mobility and a display of how we want leaders to move between different
positions throughout Telenor, said Baksaas.
New challenges
- I am excited about taking on new challenges. After having served as the Head
of Human Resources for seven years, the time is right to move on, said Bjørn
Magnus Kopperud. - I believe that the efforts from my team and myself have moved
Telenor in a positive direction over the years and I am thankful for the trust I
was given. I now look forward to contribute with my broad experience in the
management of the CEE region, said Bjørn Magnus Kopperud.
Interim replacement
Senior Vice President and advisor to the Group CEO, Ingvald Fergestad, will
temporarily serve as Executive Vice President and Head of People and
Organisation until a permanent replacement is announced.
During his tenure, Ingvald Fergestad will also take responsibility for parts of
the present Group Communications and for a restructuring process, aiming to
reorganize and streamline parts of the Group units.
New head of Corporate Communications
Pål Kvalheim has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications,
Telenor Group. In this role he will report to the CEO and President Jon Fredrik
Baksaas and be participating in the Group Executive Management (GEM) meetings.
