Metso supplies power boiler to SAICA in Spain
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Metso Corporation's company release on July 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.local timeMetso will supply a power boiler to S.A Industrias CelulosaAragonesa's (SAICA) new waste-to-energy power plant at Zaragoza inSpain. Start-up for the plant is scheduled for the third quarter of2011. The value of this order is approximately EUR 50 million. Theorder is included in Energy and Environmental Technology's Q3 ordersreveiced.The power boiler will be a 150 MW (thermal capacity) multi-fuelboiler using Metso's circulating fluidized bed technology andhigh-performance flue gas cleaning system, giving the new plant veryhigh environmental performance. With this investment SAICA willminimize their landfill operations and instead recycle their papermill waste into electrical power.SAICA is Spain's largest paper producer with a production capacity of2 million tons/year of corrugated paper. SAICA is also the largestpaper recycler in Spain, using recovered paper for papermaking.
