Pöyry awarded contracts totalling EUR 15 million for power plant projects in Thailand - EUR 7.5 million will be booked in the order stock in 2010

PÖYRY PLC Company Announcement 21 October 2010 at 4.45 p.m.
Pöyry has been awarded engineering contractor services contracts for 6 x 110 and
1 x 120 MW gas-fired combined cycle cogeneration power plant projects in
Thailand by Mit-Power (Thailand) Limited, which is owned by Mitsui. The total
value of the assignments is about EUR 15 million. The Notice to Proceed (NTP)
for the first three contracts with a value of about EUR 7.5 million was issued
on 15 October 2010 and the order will be booked into the fourth quarter 2010
order stock. The NTP for the remaining four projects is expected to be issued
and booked in the order stock in 2011.
Pöyry's assignment includes preparing the plant configuration, piping and plant
engineering, plant layout design, civil and structural design, process, control,
instrumentation and electrical design, and procurement and tendering services.
The overall schedule for the seven projects is 37 months. The schedule for the
first plant is 26 months. The second plant will be executed within 28 months and
the third unit shall be completed within 29 months. The expected commercial
operation date for the first project is scheduled for December 2012 and the
remaining projects will follow within 2013. These cogeneration plants are being
developed under the Thailand Small Power Producer (SPP) scheme, whereby 90 MW of
each plant are sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)
and electricity and steam to industrial users in the areas.
The projects have been developed by Gulf JP Co., Ltd., the owner of the entire
power plant projects, who has selected Mit-Power (Thailand) Ltd., and Toyo
Engineering Corporation of Japan as EPC contractors.
