Veidekke ASA: To build student accommodation in Drammen

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has entered into a contract with the Student Welfare
Organization in South-East Norway (SSN) to build accommodation for 195 students
at Øvre Sund in Drammen. The housing will be built to comply with the Passive
House standard and will largely be constructed of massive wood. The value of the
contract is NOK 119 million excluding VAT.
In connection with its work to further develop the student accommodation in
Drammen, the Student Welfare Organization in South-East Norway (SSN) has
selected Veidekke and Code: arkitektur as its partners to design and build the
new student accommodation.

in Hønefoss, which will be ready by the beginning of the academic year in

The project comprises two blocks of flats with three and four floors
respectively, above a basement floor with storage rooms, cycle parking and
laundry facilities for the students. The buildings will meet all the Passive
House requirements, in line with the student accommodation project at Campus
Ringerike.
The site is currently being rigged, and the plan is to get started on the
groundwork promptly. Assembly of the massive wood structure will commence in
late summer, and the entire project is slated for completion by the start of
academic year in autumn in 2017.
