* The three-year extension contract covers 29 countries and adds field
maintenance in Russia
* Agreement enables operator to focus on business and customers
* New deal continues seven-year partnership in Managed Services

TeliaSonera International Carrier has renewed and expanded its multicountry
Managed Services contract with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), building on a deal signed
in 2003 and expanded in 2005. Ericsson will now perform field operation services
for the operator's voice and data networks, built on multivendor equipment.
Among the larger countries covered are Austria, France, Germany, the UK and the
US; the expanded deal also involves taking over field maintenance in Russia.

Operators, carriers, service and content providers, and corporations around the
world use TeliaSonera International Carrier's 27,000 miles of fiber. As well as
the voice network, Ericsson will be responsible for field operation services in
29 countries covering TeliaSonera International Carrier's IP, transmission,
media, and dense wavelength division multiplexing technology (DWDM) network.
DWDM is an optical technology used to increase bandwidth over existing fiber
optic networks.

Robert Puskaric, head of Region Northern Europe and Central Asia, says: "This is
a milestone for Ericsson as we will be managing field maintenance for one
operator in 29 countries. The contract demonstrates Ericsson's leadership in
managed services and how we continue to meet operators' specific needs."

Ericsson will begin managing TeliaSonera International Carrier's services in 28
countries on December 1, 2010, and in Russia on February 1, 2011. The markets
covered are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain,

Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA.
