Musée Montagnard

Based in a Baroque Church built in 1750, this museum recreates the authentic agro-pastoral building techniques used until the 1950s. With a collection of furniture, utensils and equipment, you can experience the traditional rural Haute-Savoie life for just 4€.

Alpine Museum
Expand your local knowledge further and return to eighteenth-century Chamonix to witness its development from an Alpine backwater to today’s popular skiing resort. Situated in the old ‘Chamonix Palace’ at 89 avenue Michel Croz, this beautiful museum holds an impressive collection of photographs, paintings, artefacts and maps.
Open every day except Tuesday from 2-6pm, or 10am-12pm and 2-6pm during the school holidays; admire the valley’s historical changes for just 4.50€.
Maison de l’Alpage
Looking for even more local colour? Why not explore the time-honoured pastoral culture of Alpine life? The Maison analyses mountain pastures, allowing you to discover the secrets of an eco-sustainable system through various exhibitions, including ancient shepherding and farming practices, local produce, and changes in landscapes across the years.
Located in Le Bouchet, Servoz (74310), it is open from Monday to Saturday 9am-12pm and 2-6pm– and entrance is free!
