Veidekke to build new hotel in Bergen
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
Obos Forretningsbygg AS has awarded Veidekke Entreprenør AS the contract to
build a new major hotel in the centre of Bergen. This is a turnkey contract with
a value of NOK 366 million excluding VAT.
The hotel will become Bergen's new, central major hotel and will be erected next
to Bygarasjen on the so-called Ørnen site. The hotel will have a total floor
area of approx. 19,000 m(2 )over thirteen floors. It will have 368 rooms and
conference and course facilities for up to 700 people. The architect is Niels
Torp Arkitekter AS.
The hotel will be operated by Rica Hotels when completed early in 2014.
Demolition of existing buildings is expected to start in June.
