Telenor Norway's new subscriptions adapted for new network

(Thomson Reuters ONE) -

(Fornebu, 10 June 2011) Telenor's complete upgrade of the mobile network in
Norway will ensure high speeds and good capacity for existing and future
customers when surfing on their PCs, tablet computers and mobile phones. The new
network is accompanied by new mobile broadband subscriptions.

The efforts to build a mobile network that will cover future customer needs are
well under way in Telenor, and all equipment in Telenor's mobile network will be
replaced by November this year. Telenor's customers will not only have the
opportunity to use new and innovative services, they will also be able to use
them almost anywhere and at any time.

"The old network was primarily built with a view to high-quality voice. The new
network is designed for the mobile use of the future. Straightforward and
customised subscriptions form part of the profile for future use. And if you
prefer even higher speeds, we have that on offer," reports Svein Henning
Kirkeng, CMO of Telenor Norway.

Smart phones are increasing the data traffic
Telenor reports that the data traffic in the mobile network has doubled every
year.

"We estimate that users will account for 16 times more mobile data traffic in
2015 than today. We therefore need to develop the network so that customers can
have the coverage and capacity that is required in order to make use of all of
the new services that are available both now and in the future," adds Kirkeng.

Kirkeng stresses that Telenor will continue to provide the optimum mobile
broadband experience.

"When users buy smart phones, tablet computers or want to surf on their PC via
the mobile network, they will recognise that Telenor's mobile network gives the
best surfing experience," asserts Svein Henning Kirkeng.

Since Telenor launched mobile broadband in 2007, the technological development

in Norway has radically changed the way we relate to the outside world.

"We now have access to information from all over the world on our mobile phone,
and we are free to move our office outdoors, or to our holiday cottage or the
beach," informs Kirkeng.

The new subscriptions
Telenor is introducing subscriptions with prices based on the data volume
included, and the preferred speed.

Mobile super broadband M and L, is aimed at users who want a high speed and are
heavy users of the Internet. M costs NOK 299 a month and has speeds up to 6
Mb/s, and L has speeds all the way up to 20 Mb/s and costs NOK 399 a month.

Mobile broadband is available in four different variants, at NOK 39, 99, 149 and
199 a month respectively. These subscriptions can therefore be adapted to
individual needs and user patterns.

The subscriptions are for the consumer market, and they will be available from
15 June. The very same day Telenor will launch new mobile broadband
subscriptions also for the business market.
