Pöyry to design two biofuel-fired CHP plants for Fortum

Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded contracts by Fortum for the
engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services of two
biofuel-fired CHP (combined heat and power) plants to be built in Järvenpää,
Finland and Jelgava, Latvia.
The CHP plants will generate electricity and district heat. With the new plants,
biofuel will replace use of natural gas and/or fuel oil at the existing plants
and thus decreases greenhouse gas emissions from energy production.
Commissioning of both plants is scheduled for the year 2013.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the agreements.
