Go to Church
You don’t have to be religious to appreciate an Easter church service, and when you are a guest in another country it doubles up as cultural experience, too. Get Your Chocolate Fix
Why not join the locals and get your fill of fabulous chocolate eggs and bunnies that you can enjoy with your friends back at your student residence? London is one of the best places to indulge and with so many independent shops and high street options from Hotel Chocolat to Liberty’s, you are spoilt for choice.
Watch the London Harness Horse Parade
This traditional spectacle takes place annually on the bank holiday Monday at the South of England Showground, just outside of London. You can get the train direct and it is definitely worth the ride. The event includes a living timeline of how transportation has progressed throughout history in Britain. Seeing the working horses in action is fascinating.
The Passion of Jesus
On the Friday of the bank holiday Trafalgar Square comes alive with the Wintershall Players’ performance of the “The Passion of Jesus”. Around 20,000 people watch the two performances and the atmosphere in this outdoor theatre is electric. 78 actors take you through the story, which is free to everyone attending. A big screen is also on hand in case you end up having a restricted view.
Take a Walking Tour
For any international student living in a student residence, London may at first seem a little overwhelming, which is why we have included this option for an Easter activity. Taking a tour of the city will help you get orientated and this is the perfect time of year, weather-wise, to do it. You will have the chance to appreciate this area’s fabulous architecture, enjoy the boutiques and explore the restaurants without the hustle and bustle of the 9-5 getting in the way.
