Entrepreneur Returns To Hometown To Offer Low-Income Residents Grocery Store
Aberdeen, MS will have its very own grocery store when Freshly's Groceries opens on Saturday, February 11 at 11 am. One attendee will receive a free 2-minute shopping spree.
(firmenpresse) - An Aberdeen, MS native turned successful entrepreneur will return to her hometown to open the city’s first full-service grocery store complete with deli, bakery and floral shop on Saturday, February 11. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting at 11 am followed an announcement of the ticket holder who will receive a 2-minute shopping spree where they will be able to fill their cart with as many items as they can claim in that time period. Freshly’s is a new 20,000-square-foot store located at 100 Highway 8 West, in Aberdeen, MS, that will serve the mostly low-income community with products and services typically only offered in larger towns. Freshly’s will offer its own home delivery service on orders of $25 or more and has contracted with InstaCart for added convenience. In addition, each Tuesday, all military (both active duty and veterans), uniformed police and fire officials as well as senior citizens will receive a 5% discount on their purchases. The concept is the brainchild of Katina Holliday, founder and CEO of Holliday’s Helping Hands (HHH) in Los Angeles, a nonprofit that assists both homeless persons and young mothers recently released from penal institutions by housing and preparing them for lives of independence. Since moving away from her hometown, Miss Holliday has given back to her hometown countless times, most recently by launching The Pointe, a 30,000-square-foot complex located at 100 Highway 8 that houses the new Freshly's as well as the newly opened Urgent & Primary Care at the Pointe.
