Pöyry awarded EUR 7.5 million railway design contract in Poland
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - PÿYRY PLC Company Announcement 14 October 2009 at 12.40 p.m.Pöyry has been awarded the design contract for the new airport raillink in Katowice, Poland by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. Pöyry'sshare of the total assignment is EUR 7.5 million.Pöyry is leading the design consortium with DB International in theproject, which includes 38 km of railway line and 28 new structuressuch as bridges etc. The airport rail link runs from the Katowiceairport in Pyrzowice to the centre of Katowice and other cities ofthe Upper Silesian agglomeration.The design services will start with a feasibility study, leading overpreliminary and building permit design and finally to the tenderdesign including preparation of tender documents. They also containconsulting services during the bidding phase of the contractors. Thedesign phase will last from October 2009 to May 2011 and will alsoinclude a complete environmental impact assessment and obtaining ofrelevant environmental permits.The project is financed by the EU Cohesion Fund and the Polish Statebudget.Pöyry is a global expert in consulting, project management andengineering.
