PERU AUTHORIZES STARTING OF SECOND FISHING SEASON
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - On 15 October, PRODUCE, the Peruvian Ministry of Production's FishingVice Ministry, entity that executes and directs the sector policiesto guarantee the rational management of fishing resources andpreservation of the environment, issued resolution 446-2009 PRODUCEauthorizing the start of the second fishing season on 6 November at00:00 hrs in the are between the center-north area of Peru (North of16th parallel).The maximum allowable catch limit of anchovy for indirect humanconsumption for the second fishing season is 2,000,000 MT.The second fishing season will end once the maximum allowable catchlimit is reached, otherwise on 31 January 2010.
